• Launches DSK Moto wheels Pvt Ltd.
• Announces its new partnership with Korean giant S&T Motors which sells superbikes under the brand name ‘Hyosung’
• DSK Motowheels to exclusively sale ‘Hyosung’ super bikes in India
Pune, 6th June 2012: DSK group , one of Maharashtra’s biggest & diversified group with turnover of Rs 4000 Cr. and interests in Construction & Real Estate , Automobiles, digital products, education, investments, pharmacy, travel and leisure, hospitality and infrastructure today announced their maiden business venture into the two wheeler segment with the launch of DSK Motowheels Pvt Ltd. On this occasion, DSK Motowheels announced their association with Korean giants S&T Motors, who will partner DSK Motowheels for assembling, marketing and selling ‘Hyosung’ Superbikes . With this tieup DSK Motowheels replaces Garware Motors Limited as the exclusive distributors of ‘Hyosung’ Motorcycles in India . This new venture would be named as ‘DSK Hyosung’
With this tie up DSK Motowheels would be taking over the manufacturing facility of Garware Motors Ltd in Wai. All 18 dealerships of Garware Motors Limited will also be transferred to DSK Motowheels.
Speaking on this occasion, Shirish Kulkarni , Managing Director of DSK Motowheels , said, “We are excited to get in to the Superbiking market and are glad to be associated with a brand like Hyosung which is known for its stylized powerful bikes . In one year of their existence Hyosung has built a name for itself in the minds of Superbiking enthusiasts of the country and we want to take this forward. Hyosung has the experience, technology and product mix required for Indian market. Our Core strength lies in front end sales and marketing. We are also known for our service qualities and customer care. We plan to leverage each other’s strengths and create synergies to make DSK Hyosung one of the most sought after superbike brand among the youth in the country. With rising incomes, and aspirational lifestyles we believe that the demand for superbikes is going to grow exponentially in this country in times to come.”
Speaking of Future plans Mr. Kulkarni outlined that DSK Motowheels has plans for setting a full fledged plant very near to Pune in near future. He also added that DSK Motowheels along with S&T Motors have immediate & aggressive plans for localization to bring down costs and make superbikes more affordable in India.
DSK group is not new to the automotive Industry in India. The Pune based group , has 7 Toyota car dealerships and are dealers of Hino commercial vehicle across Maharashtra . “We are present in customer facing businesses; we understand customers and have experience handling them. Hence, we have decided to enter the manufacturing area since we have expertise in the front end, the sales, marketing and after sales,” Mr Kulkarni said.

About S&T Motors (Hyosung) :
Founded in 1978 as a division of the Hyosung Group of industries, Hyosung began producing Japanese Suzuki motorcycle designs under license for the South Korean market in Changwon, South Korea in 1979. In 1986, they established their own research and development center in Hamamatsu, Japan, and the next year, they began mass production of their own designs. They were the official motorcycle supplier for the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul. In 2003, Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. was spun off from the Hyosung Group to become its own corporate entity. In June 2007, Hyosung Motors Division was acquired by Korean company S&T Group (Science and Technology), and the name changed to S&T Motors.
